How does water extraction work?

During water extraction, the producer uses water to transfer water-soluble components

What does standardization of Physta® mean?

First, the producer establishes specifications for selected properties. Then, each production batch
is checked against these limits. The goal is therefore to create more comparable
analysis values between different batches.

However, standardization does not automatically mean that an extract is stronger, safer, or
better than all other raw materials. In addition, one needs to know which markers are analyzed,
which ranges are used, which analysis method the laboratory applies, and whether the documentation
applies to the correct batch.

For Physta®, several analysis parameters are used instead of just one marker content.
For example, the manufacturer highlights eurycomanone, total protein fraction, total polysaccharide content,

Which substances and analytical markers are standardized in Physta®?

Eurycomanone

For example, eurycomanone is a quassinoid often used as a chemical marker for
Eurycoma longifolia extract. The laboratory can therefore use the marker to
check that the content is within the product’s specification. However, eurycomanone
does not describe the entire extract’s composition.

Total protein fraction

Furthermore, the analysis certificate reports total protein as a separate parameter. The term indicates
an aggregate analysis value and does not identify every single protein or every peptide.
Therefore, total protein should not be equated with a complete molecular mapping.

Total polysaccharide content

Similarly, the laboratory reports polysaccharides as a total content. The value summarizes
the result from the chosen analysis method. Here too, one must therefore distinguish between a
total value and the identification of individual molecules.

Glycosaponins

Finally, glycosaponins constitute another standardization parameter in the documentation.
The analysis shows whether the batch meets the specified minimum content. However, the value alone
does not say anything about the product’s complete chemical profile, presence of impurities, or
regulatory status.

In other words, a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis shows how a single
production batch relates to the product’s defined specifications.
